Last night in Mather Dining Hall we served London Broil. Do you know what part of the animal London Broil comes from?

Osso Buco is a famous Italian dish. What is the meaning of Osso Buco in Italian?

What is the most expensive spice in the world?

Welcome to Chartwells at Trinity College

Trinity College and beyond - welcome to our culinary chef blog, where food is our passion and YouFirst is our mantra.  Since this is our first entry, let me introduce you to the starting lineup:

I am Michael, the creative writer and proofreader that will fill this blog with simple, dorm friendly classic recipes, insights into the world of Chartwells at Trinity College and lots of gossip.  (Ok, just kidding about the gossip)

Executive Chef Keith and Sous Chef/Production Manager Janusz (pronounced Jannie) will entice you with their culinary expertise, invite you to try their new, weekly creations and even challenge you to get to know them.  You know how the game is played;  Get to know the chef's by name, they in turn will hook you up with your special requests ( well, some of them ).

Erica, the marketing and computer genius that gets this blog to you.  She's the boss on giveaways, discounts, graphics and the such.  She's the FLASH and the PIZZAZ and all that goes with it.

And finally Toby, our fearless leader.  You can't miss him at 6'3" - but don't let his size fool you - he is as soft as a fresh dinner roll hot out of the oven.  Toby's strength come from his "cut to the chase" personality, the one who can navigate through all the red tape to get you want you really want - which is great food and awesome service.  If you can get on Toby's speed dial - relish it, enjoy it, milk it because this is worth more than its weight in gold.

So there you go - we have officially kicked this off the ground.  Don't be shy - all food related topics are fair game - and let's have some fun in the process.

Let me leave you with some fun fact trivia (answer to come on the next blog):

1.  What is Donald Duck's middle name ?

2.  What is the name of the dog on the Cracker Jacks box ?
